Founded in Lausanne as JApictures Sàrl in 2013 and now based in Geneva since 2017, JAPiCS is a film production company specializing in animated films.
Our story began years before establishing the company, through early experimentation with stop-motion animation as a fun activity. This mindset of exploration and experiment has been at the heart of what we do—and continued to accompany us as we started to take on commissioned work.

For around 11 years, and a little bit by happy accident, we have been a video/film agency, producing corporate and institutional films for some very high-profile clients, including private companies, NGOs, foundations, and public institutions. Alongside these projects, we kept nurturing our passion for animation, integrating various techniques such as 2D and stop-motion into diverse client projects.
A first turning point came with the production of Coucouleurs (2018), directed by Oana Lacroix. Her poetic and visually distinctive film was selected by major festivals such as the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and has been showed all around the world on all kind of screens and confirmed our love for more artistic, story-driven animation.

Life went on as we were busy with client work, until 2024, when we made a clear commitment: to focus exclusively on our dream. And that is the development and production of animated films. This decision reflects our love for animation and our belief in its unique power to tell universal, emotionally resonant stories across cultures and generations.
Today, JAPiCS aim to become a key partner in national and international productions and co-productions of animated films and TV series, dedicated to artistic excellence, meaningful storytelling and creative collaborations.
