In a surreal HR supermarket, people are traded like commodities and then moulded to suit the company – in a literal sense. Career starters lie in chocolate boxes, those returning to work in claw machines, Specialists are pre- sented on little platforms. Three characters – the inexperienced graduate Mike, the conscientious returnee Martha and the dismissed manager Caroline – go through various stages of the modern job market, from recruitment to unwanted departure to reintegration.
Laufbahn deals with work-life balance, speed optimisation, and unscrupulous restructuring, and addresses the focus on efficiency and the loss of humanity in the world of work.
